2017

We've been thinking about our 2017 travel plans a lot for the last few weeks and today they've finally all come together.

This will probably be our last year of travelling full time. But it's going to be a good one.

Here's what we'll be up to:

January & February

We've been in Prague for the last two weeks and I think it might be the perfect city. Pretty architecture, lots of galleries, great restaurants and coffee shops, plenty to do, cheap, walkable. It's been snowing on and off since we got here, but everywhere is warm and cosy, and we just love it.

March & April

Our next stop will be Poland. We're getting the train to Warsaw and we'll spend 6 weeks there. We have a couple of weekend trips to Kraków and Wrocław in mind but mostly we'll be hanging out in our fun neighbourhood, going to the cinema and art galleries, and eating lots of pierogi.

May

Ok, this is the place I'm most excited about – Scotland! We may have got a bit carried away, and for that I blame Visit Scotland's instagram. We'll fly into Edinburgh and then get the 6-hour ferry from Aberdeen to Orkney for a month's stay in St Margaret's Hope. It's a small village on South Ronaldsay (a one shop, one pub, one post office kind of place). I'm really looking forward to seeing what life's like in this remote part of the UK.

Then, towards the end of May we're going on a 10-day road trip around the north of Scotland, wild camping along the way. Our plan is to drive along the North Coast 500 and visit the Isle of Skye (but we'd love any suggestions if you've been up there). Let's just hope it doesn't rain too much.

June

At the start of June we'll make our annual trip back home for a few weeks of family time, hangouts in London and seeing our lovely friends get married.

July

And then it'll be off on our next adventure. We're stopping in New York for a few days before flying to Colombia (and hopefully going straight to the beach). Priority number one is to finally learn Spanish.

August–December

In the second half of the year, we'll be travelling down the western part of South America – Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. We're going to try not to cram too much in, to go to fewer places and have a couple of month-long stints. I think we'll probably be in Chile by December, but we've only just cracked the spine on our guidebook so it's all still tbc.

Today is our 1000th day on the road, which is just ridiculous. We're taking ourselves out to Sansho tonight to celebrate.

I've had my ups and downs with travel over the last couple of years (after a while you really miss having a home, guys), and so it's great to be feeling excited about it all again!
